A chilling, psychological thriller around a gifted 8-year old boy. He is haunted by a dark secret, which both frightens and secludes him from any chances of having an ordinary life: he is visited by ghosts.
These visitations from those with unresolved problems who appear from the shadows of his world, confuse the little boy who is understandably too young to understand the purpose of his paranormal powers. He is too afraid to tell anyone about his anguish, except to a child psychologist.

Ian Douglas: A cleverly-constructed film, which springs a trap on you right near the end. However, on reflection, you realise that the trap was not based on sound logic, and you are left feeling cheated. On balance, a somewhat scary supernatural thriller, with a great performance from the little boy.
Cornú Nel (18): A truly stunning movie. One of the best 'mind shock' films this year. A must see for all.
Dion Scher (26): Brilliant movie with a great story and superb twist. Leaves you deep in thought at the end.
Jacqueline v/d Westhuizen (17): This was by far the best movie I've ever seen . So many movies lack the unpredictable events. A quality this movie had no problem with.
Trish Cock (37): One of the better thrillers due to the lack of violence as it is inferred and not actually seen. Wonderful twist to the tale at the end. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Isma Manitsa (27): I enjoyed the twist in the end!
Paul Pretorius (30): An excellent crafted movie by a director and director of photography who understand their respective trades. Surprising performance by macho Bruce and well done by the little boy. Best thriller of 1999 by far!
Vanessa Govender (24): Started off quite normal, so I did not expect much except that it was just another thriller, but boy did the twist at the end get me. I never would have guessed, that for me cinched the movie. Bruce Willis did a great bit of acting - looks like he's getting into the more dramatic side of acting these days.
Chris Lubbe (37): Good.
Mel Kleb (15): It is the one and only movie that has kept me glued to my seat. Needed no sex or violence to imprint it in my mind.
Shaun Myburg (21): I waited for the hype to die down on this one, however I needed to see it before the Oscars. I can honestly say, Bruce Willis deserves the Oscar (although he probably won't even get nominated). Haley Joel Osment co-stars in this supernatural drama-thriller that keeps you guessing... and then right at the end proves all those guess wrong. Truly superb direction and a fantastic script make this perhaps one of the best films in the past couple of years. I highly recommend this one.
Cameron Davidson (12): That is the best movie i have ever seen in my life.
Don Bode: Excellent and deserves the ratings it has been getting, what an EXCELLENT twist to an unusal movie.
Bruce Humphrey (44): Wow! Truly great stuff! The twist in the tale will have you reflecting on what happened in the story from the very beginning. Miss it at your own risk.
Isobel Whitfield (40): Good script, good acting, good twist at the end.
Jeremy Howard (34): The movie really had an interesting twist to the tale and brilliantly wrapped up at the end. Can we see more of this type of movie please?
Chantal Bennett (17): I think this movie was the first excellent, scary movie we have seen in a long time. The acting was brilliant and the twist in the end was never seen before it happend.
Maryke de Flamingh (13): Brilliant movie, the twist at the end left me in deep thought the rest of the week.
