Dogma
A female descendant of Christ and two unlikely prophets are called upon by the 13th Apostle, to stop two angels that were cast out
of heaven, from unknowingly erasing all of God's work by restoring their souls by entering a new church.Restoring one's soul by entering a new church is part of the Catholic Dogma, and by restoring their souls the angels could re-enter heaven thus revealing there is a loophole to return to heaven. This would prove God was not perfect and upon proving this, all of God's work would immediatly be erased. 130 minutes, No Persons Under 16 (Language, Violence). Comedy. You can usually find additional (copyrighted) pictures, trailers, etc, on the Official Site. |

Ian Douglas: Oy Vey! If ever a film set out to offend, this is it. Smith takes liberties with almost everything dear to devout Catholics (and probably other denominations too) and just lets rip. Samples: violent, swearing angels. A female God doing cartwheels, with a (literally) killer voice. On the other hand, it *is* very funny...
George Battye (27): I thought this movie was excellently done, providing a good balance between humour and dogmatic commentary. Having seen all the other View Askew flics I was expecting excellent, well thought-out dialogue and I wasn't disappointed. With the sensitivity of the subject matter, the writer could have resorted to trite and merely insulting lines, but he didn't. Out of the four movies, this probably rates as one of the most enjoyable. An excellent production.
Ric Glenn (19): I'd stay away if i was orthodox christian ....I'm jewish though.
Isma Manitsa (27): Even though you think it's rubbish, while watching it, you leave the theatre thinking about, and questioning, Real Issues.
Vanessa Govender (24): Brilliant! Loved it. It was totally awesome. Should screen more of these type of movies.
Chinell Jackson (30): Boring. A waste of money and time despite the stars. The humour is lost in all the violence.
Chris Darroll (31): Over the top, YES, but it is one of the funniest ever seen.
