Xiu Xiu is one of the many Chinese youths "sent down" to the country from her city home. She is supposed to spend six months learning
horse herding and then return with honours.The real trouble, however, begins after her allotted six months are up, and she begins anticipating her return to "civilization"-- only to find she's literally been forgotten.
