Ian Douglas: Pretty gory, with all the usual skriks and red herrings common to the genre. Reminded me of "Virus" and "Deep Rising". The plot leaks as much as the research station. It should do well ;-)
Alethea Livanos: Action packed.
Petro Jolene: We loved this movie. And we think it's the best movie we have seen in a long time. It is a must see movie. Stunning!
Joshua Deats: This movie is great but has some fake looking blood.
Gareth Glutz: Really scary...go watch it.
Don Bode: If you want action and suspense this is an excellent movie. If your looking for any brain stimulation avoid this one. Loads of fun.
Eddie Roper: Not bad, wrong leading woman.
Andrea Herman: Too gory. Not for a ten year old.
Andre Swanepoel: Good mindless entertainment.
Robert Haynes: Don't go in expecting intelligent cinema then you should have fun with this "in your face" souped up version of Jaws. They should have actually called this movie JAWS 2000, see if you can spot the similarities. Real edge of your seat stuff, nonetheless, with plenty if "Scream and squirm" moments to go around - good fun...
Stuart Mann: A great movie if you enjoy paying 20-odd rand to see plastic sharks swimming around and eating people. The best part of the movie is when Samuel L. Jackson bites it (sorry to ruin the only twist and probably most complex part of the plot) - what the hell was he doing in this movie anyway? The plot and the way the characters overcame the sharks reminded me of Anaconda (another terrible movie) even right down to a has-been rapper help save the day (here LL Cool J, there Ice Cube).
Stan Immelman: Pretty good for the genre! Not overdone on sci-fi like most others!
Nuno Rosa: Nice movie.
Joshua Schewitz: A very good movie one that I would watch over and over again.
Guinevere Vos: I am a huge Harlin fan. It was one the best "thriller-water-action" films to come out in years. Watch out for Thomas Jane - nice surprise.
Zirkia Murphy: Not what I was expecting, but not so bad either, I must admit the leading women could have been better, the effects was not 'real' I mean I could see the sharks are models, but the action is good.
Jackie Dunlop: Very good action movie. Interesting to see how humans can stuff every thing up. Enjoyed it.
Juandre Rautenbach: Very good, brilliant.
Donna Morrs: WOW, this is some scary Freddy Kruger movie! It scared the hell out of me and it will haunt me forever...don't watch it, it's to scary.
Andrew Simpson: Masterfully directed with scary twists at every turn Deep Blue Sea is probably the best shark movie ever made.
Lisa Anderson: This is some scary film. Some of the scenes were less than realistic but the exallent plot and great acting made up for this. Samuel L Jackson brought the best acting to the film along with LL Cool J playing the hero. A great film that is well worth watching.
