Ian Douglas: Tarzan for adults? Hannibal Lector meets Gorillas in the Mist? Zorro rides again? The film takes plotlines from all three sources, and ultimately disappoints. It hints at a breakthrough view of humanity but never quite gets there. Maybe it's only in the book. The performances are good.
