The Moviesite Fan Club comments

Graeme Smith: What was all the hype about??? The movie was good, but not great. Saving Private Ryan must win now. Cate Blanchett deserves the Best Actress Oscar. What is the all the hoopla about?? It did not deserve to win all those Oscars. Elizabeth was a better picture in every way.

John Cullen: Quite romantic !!

Isma Manitsa: Come equipped with tissues!

Roger Hex: Can't get worse.

Miranda Africa: A tear rolled down my cheek...

Laetitia Loubser: What a brilliant movie!! Excellent acting and brilliant directing. A genre where Steven Speilberg would not have succeeded. But he already knows the underlying message, being that you can only sell what you believe in. Love brings substance to your life... and that can includes love for anything, even a career. Open your heart and find the true you. What you stand for and what you believe in. Only then can you begin to live and sell your ideas of life!

Suzette Holtzhausen: I thought it was a classic. Witty, but looking and listening between the lines it has great character. I'll recommend it to all who ever has had something to do with Shakespeare in life.

Candice Etzine: I thought the film was amazing, it touched my heart in every way.

Kristen Henry: I think it is a great movie. It should of been given 20 oscars. It was very romantic. I recamend it espesily to people who enjoy poetry.

Carmen Maharaj: This was a good movie (emphasis on good not great or excellent or even Oscar award winning). Paltrow's performance was not 'that' great really! Excellent acting by Joseph Fiennes, (where's he been all this time?).

Arauna Zeelie: Very witty! I could see from the audiences reaction that some of the contents went over their heads. Gwyneth can be a bit grating, but otherwise great stuff.

Rach Nesmith: This movie was just awesome.

Eric Shao: Very good.

Leigh Samanek: I thoroughly enjoyed the movie although I must agree with some that I don't necessarily think it deserved Oscars. For the romantics out there this is a classic.

Stephanie Boone: This was one of the best movies I've seen. It had everything, love, swordfighting, a bit with a dog, great actors, great script, and it was all put together gracefully.

Carla Montes: I love Shakespeare.

Debbie Booysen: I cannot believe the amount of Oscars that this average little film won! This just confirms my suspicions that Oscar nights are rigged...

Jolene Petro: Must see movie!

Guinevere Vos: Could I have missed something in this film. It was well directed and funny but Oscar good? Paltrow and Fiennes give average performances. I do believe that Dench and Rush were amazing. OK it is romantic and the ending was really good but what I saw did not show me anything new or superb.

Mark Lewis: Very good.

Antoinette Bezuidenhout: One of the best movies I've seen!

Rachael Chamberlain: I loved the movie.. Shakespeare portrays love so well..
