Enemy of the State

Are THEY after you too? A modern thriller which explores the power of the state to monitor -- and control -- the lives of ordinary citizens. Although there are similarities to "The Net" this version is much more hi-tech. A young lawyer inadvertantly gets mixed up in a cover-up operation run by the American National Security Agency. The NSA use all their technological tricks -- and muscle power -- in an effort to neutralise the perceived threat. Luckily, our hero meets up with an ex-NSA operative who helps him out. The trailer gives the impression that the film is not stop action: there is plenty of action, but a lot more substance too.

132 minutes, No persons under 10.
Action, Thriller.

The Moviesite Fan Club comments

Nick Soper: I was quite impressed with this movie. Pretty mediocre for the first three quarters of the movie, but a classic ending. Even so, I would have like to have seen the ending expanded a bit more...

Paddy Venner: Good, pacey movie that keeps you frustrated and interested all the way. Strong acting from Smith, Hackman and Voight. Well worth it.

Laetitia Loubser: Somehow this movie had all the right ingredients but they weren't mixed together correctly. It just doesn't quite work. Maybe the actors weren't compatable or maybe the characters didn't "sizzle". But it was still fair entertainment and I would say worth your ticket money.

Miranda Africa: I think it was slamming. Didn't require a lot of thinking at all. But Smith's skills are well appreciated.

Vanussa Govender: Fast paced and excellent portrayal of technology. Will Smith is really the most brilliant actor with just the right touch of humour.

Arauna Zeelie: I enjoyed this movie, loved all the high tech stuff. Thought Will Smith was good. The lady playing the role of his wife was not incredible though. John Voight was an excellent baddy.

Stanley Matlala: It is a good movie.
