A film about a newly-wed Japanese couple. A young man marries against his mother's wishes. While on a passionate holiday in New Zealand, tragedy occurs, and the young wife moves back to live with his mom. Things are not easy. She is distraught and returns to the scene of their holiday, living like a hermit scavenger in a cave. Eventually she returns to Japan. I found the story rather silly and pointless, maybe I missed something Deep and Significant?.. Regret there is no overseas commentary available.
