A film which tries to examine the ethical problem of doing the right thing when that right thing really costs you. Three strangers meet in Malaysia and have a great time with dagga and girls. Two then jet back to the States, while the 3rd remains behind. He gets bust with all the leftover dagga, and sentenced to death. With 8 days left, his US lawyer tracks down the other two to try and persuade them to return to Malaysia and split the sentence - each to do 3 years instead of one hanging. Add a pesky journalist, and things get quite tense. The film is supposed to be a tear-jerker, but left me (and others, it seems) unmoved.
