A film about the illegal growing of dagga in the US. Three labourers see their boss gunned down, but continue the ''business'' as if he were still alive, by using creative lies and impersonation. They deal with various obstacles in their quest to bring their crop to market, ranging from the mob to the cops to other crooks to their main buyer. Things almost work out for them.
