Based on a Ruth Rendell novel, this is a fairly straightfaced tale of betrayal both sexual and personal. A pointless armed stand-off over a lovely junkie leaves a young cop in a wheelchair, and the hapless hero in prison for shooting him. While the cop becomes a wheelchair athlete extraordinaire and marries the reformed junkie, our hero plots revenge. When he emerges from prison, however, nothing unfolds as simply as he expects. The cop's former partner and his straying wife muddy the waters so that the piece's predictable villain becomes its true-hearted hero. Expect lots of sex. Spanish with English subtitles.
