A Thousand Acres

A complex family drama, summed up as 'King Lear on a farm in Iowa'. A farmer decides to split his large farm between his three daughters. However, he then decides to disinherit the one. The other two, and their husbands, begin scheming as to what to do with the farm. Daddy then decides to sue his daughters to get the farm back.
The film is based on an even more complex book, which takes its time to tie up all the loose ends, which the film does not do. Reviews have been mixed.
