Gangster yarn cum buddy movie. Our hero gets sent across the country by a gangster, to collect some money owed to him by another man. Naturally a lackey goes along with him to make sure he does the job. Said job proves a little trickier than expected, which gives the obvious 'buddy' angle time to develop. The film has won a few awards.
