After Christopher has suffered a stroke, from which he is not expected to recover, his wife Sorel receives a manuscript of a novella secretly written by her husband and "leaked" to her by her husband's friend and university colleague, Jeremy. Sorel is shocked to find in its autobiographical pages evidence of a life betrayed. And while Christopher stares comatose and speechless from his death bed, Sorel commences a desperate search to unravel truth from fiction but in the process finds herself entangled in a conspiracy of betrayal.
