The head of Los Angeles' Emergency Department is about to go on leave when some rumblings disturb him. When some workers are burnt underground, he begins to suspect volcanic activity. His attempts to convince the bosses don't succeed, and when he is proved right, he gets the job of sorting out the chaos. A desperate race against time to save the innocent, clueless people.
