Not exactly Beverly Hills Cop, even though the setup looks similar. Our hero is an experienced hostage negotiator, who has to teach his new assistant how to do the job. Along the way he has to win a girlfriend, rescue her from the villian, and chase the villian in a lengthy and expensive car chase. The villian is both a thief and murderer. This "comedy thriller" borrows lots from other movies, and tries to poke fun at standard thrillers.
